Refurbished Cast Brass Boat Bell. Based on the size and weight, this bell was likely used on a small to medium sized sailing vessel. It is cast brass measuring 6" wide x 4" tall and weighs 3 pounds. Included are the original 5" brass hanging bracket (with bulkhead receptacle), 3½? bronze clapper, and 7" sailor?s line whipped pull lanyard. It is very unusual to get the bracket receptacle, because they are almost always left attached to a boat. This bell has a nice loud/low tone due to its unusually thick casting.
